In the real world, people know me as Gonzalo Rodriguez, but in the digital landscape I simply go by the name… Gonnak.
During 2021 and 2022 I designed, developed and published ‘Jade Order’. I was responsible for designing and developing the game’s mechanics, systems and core rules. On the artistic side, I created all pixel art assets, including characters, backgrounds, animation sprites, visual FXs and UI. The UX focus was to make the game as approachable as possible to its target audience by having clean and defined elements on screen that could intuitively communicate with the player through its visual feedback.
Website designed for ‘Playacht’, a yacht rental company based in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Implemented customized template systems that allows the client to add new pages to the website while maintaining consistent design patterns, visuals and layouts. Improved the graphic design to have a cleaner, more modern and responsive look.
In September of 2019 I designed, developed and published the game ‘VIA’ on iOS. ‘VIA’ is a puzzle game where players have to navigate through complex mazes while discovering beautiful and artistic animal portraits. I was responsible for creating and building all game mechanics, systems and rules. Artistically, I created all visual elements, including effects, particles, animations, UI, game sprites and the beautiful fauna illustrations. The game has been downloaded more than 300,000 times and has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars in the Apple App Store.
Website designed for ‘Cerveza Schazttek’, a craft beer company based in Mexico City. Designed the website to inform customers about the company’s products. Implemented a Shopify store system that allows customers to buy beer directly from the site.
Back in 2016 I designed, developed and published the game ‘Blowble’ on iOS. ‘Blowble’ is a skill based puzzle game, where players have to navigate through perilous levels in order to reach the goal. I was responsible for creating and building all game mechanics, systems and rules. Artistically, I created all visual elements, including effects, particles, animations, UI and game sprites.
Website designed back in 2018 for ‘Fomento Mexicano’, a charitable organization based in Mexico City. Designed the website to inform users about the org and its activities. The goal was also to present the information in a clean and organized way, in order to persuade users into donating to the organization’s cause.
From 2015 until now, I have been creating, developing and publishing other games mainly on iOS. Some of these include ‘Bonzy’ and ‘Fidget Winner’. In both games I was responsible for developing all game mechanics, systems and rules. Artistically, I created all visual elements that give the games their distinct look and feel. I have also been experimenting with creating some UI Art samples, where the goal is to practice my artistic skills while rendering various textures.
Since 2010 I’ve been doing Graphic Design work for a myriad of clients. These projects are mainly focused on Brand Identity and Logo Designs. Clients range from a small food delivery business to an established events planning company. Here are some projects I’ve had the pleasure to have designed.
